CA-10: Introducing Secretarial Audit as an Internal Audit Function

Secretarial Audit is a process like any other audit focused on verifying the compliance of a corporate entity with the various laws applicable or relevant to that entity. Like any other audit, on may think it as an unnecessary extra cost to the entity. However, in most of the times, non-compliance causes cost which is higher than the Cost of Compliance or Secretarial Audit. In Bangladesh, Secretarial Audit has not yet been made mandatory by law. However, such provision is there in the proposed/ draft company law. If it becomes mandatory in near future then the entities concerned would face difficulties to show compliance before the Secretarial Auditors.
